I always set the default page of my web browser; let it be the Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox or Nets café Navigator or any other web browser, to Yahoo home page yahoodot com Just because it the most favorite web page for me. Its user interface design, easy navigation facilities, color combinations and everything about that home page is just about perfect. Being a web designer I just admire this web page designing.
Being in the internet business from the last ten years, I also admire the business aspects of the web page. The yahoo home page is among the top hundred web pages with regards to the traffic consistently in the last five years. It is also among the top ten list in the last couple of years.
What makes this yahoo home page so special? What helps it's ranking? Let's check out the exact reasons:
The Yahoo master head has six main links. These are the links to the top six services that are provided by the yahoo for its customers. When ever you open the home page, you naturally tend to see these six links first. This is because of it's very well made design.
Hence, the productive clicks that the home page visitors make are very high.
The second highlight is it's search box. As we all know, the yahoo search is the second best search general search engine available next to Google. Hence, naturally the productive clicks are more again.
Then the home page is loaded with many advertisement links, which tend to change quite frequently. But these links differ a lot depending up on the region from where you logged in. Hence again productive clicks are more.
With all the above advantages, it is obvious that yahoo home page is in the top ten for the two consecutive years and at the top of my favorite web pages list.
